HAPPY MAY DAY

Happy May Day!!! When I was a girl my mother told me how she would make paper baskets and fill them with flowers. The she would hang them on the neighbors doors, ring the bell and run and hide. She loved seeing the people full of smiles when they got there little present of flowers. I took great delight in following in her foots steps and making my own little May baskets for the neighbors. Later in life Mom volunteered at the hospital. She had the job of delivering the flowers sent to the patients by loved ones. She had two wonderful experiences. One was enjoying the beautiful flowers as she wheeled them through the halls. Next they were so happy and thanked her so much as if she had given them herself. Mom loved flowers so very much. When we lived in England the flower man would come by and she would buy fresh flowers. We never had that luxury in the USA but somehow it was just right for us in England.

I love my little May Day girl. I took this photo of an old Victorian Garden. I keep learning new things with Photo shop. I got a Wacom pad to draw with and make little lines around the flowers. I also cut out the blossoms and added them from the garden to the drawn flowers in her basket. I also picked some from the photo and placed them in her hand...I hope she sweetens your Day as I can't come and give each of you flowers on your door like I did as a kid but rather I give you my dear little May girl....

I love what you are doing in photoshop...how I wish we lived closer...I would love to spend time with you and get some pointers on photoshop...take illustration classes with you and talk about Skaen.
When I lived in New England I received and gave away many May Day Baskets...Love the tradition.
