Good bye sweet summer

I don't want the summer to go away. But Fall is so beautiful. I thought I need to put up my fall decorations as I walked through the craft store getting supplies for Art and Soul. Then I realized as I looked at the date that summer is over.

This is one of the little dolls I made with a summer theme. I traded the other one I made at a doll swap.
.It was so fun to think of ocean water bubbles, shells and bird tracks in the sand. I stamped her body that I had put gesso on and then washed over it with a watery color.
Aren't these fun summer girls? My friend Lulu and a lovely Russian doll maker Lubov swapped dolls. This is a photo I found on Lubov blog. It is so cute to see the girls together.

This was my version of Lulu. She has beautiful blue eyes!

Happy Fall......

I have mixed emotion about the onset of Autumn. I often think it's my fave Season but I miss the warm Summer sunshine. In truth, I love all the Seasons and what each one brings to my life. I think it's just the sadness watching each one end! ;)

Little signs of fall are starting to appear here in Arkansas. Goodbye summer, Welcome fall! The richness of color will be masterful with all the rain we've had. The Good Lord has prepared His canvas!

Your painting of Lulu is gorgeous and so dreamy! You are so talented.

I, too, will miss summer. This summer has been particularly wonderful for me, so I will miss it more than most. But hopefully the transition will be smooth. The weather here can't quite make up its mind which season it is, so the golden days aren't quite gone yet.

How funny that one of the dolls look like Lulu! :-)
And your lovely lady of the sea is such a melancholic dreamer. Very beautiful.
I´ve been missing summer all summer! It´s been raining more or less the whole summer here, so I feel like I´ve missed out on the intire summer...

Is it weird that I love the drawings/paintings of the dolls just as much??
